Pretty Ladies | Just for Fun

Hello there!

Today I am sharing one of the two layouts that I completed at a recent weekend retreat I attended.  Yes, I know that doesn't sound very productive, however, I did make a ton of Christmas tags (half of which are now in the trash) and a plethora of Christmas cards (which have been mailed to friends and family).  And I did have an amazing time, chatting with my friends and enjoying too many wonderful meals!

Anyway, on to the page.  I wanted to document this photo of my daughter-in-law Christina and her sisters; Alyssa and Samantha, taken at Christina's bridal shower this past summer.  I used a spring-ish paper pad from Pebbles Inc. that features the prettiest colours and loads of random goodies.

I love this background paper, both for the colour and the design.  I opted to keep my focal area very tight, nestling all of my embellishments around the photo for bigger impact.

I love this Heidi Swapp acetate word and was so happy to have a use for it, finally!

I also added in pops of gold with enamel dots and Color Shine, which makes the gold in the photo pop, too.

A bit of gold stitching also seemed a must!

This banner shape piece is a sticker from Kaisercraft, having a bit left over from the piece I used behind my photo prompted me to create this little cluster at the top of my page.

Supply List: Bramble Fox flair; Pebbles patterned papers;  Simple Stories enamel dots; Basic Grey alphas; misc crochet thread; my own print and cuts, Kaisercraft stickers, Heidi Swapp acetate word and gold color shine; Maggie Holmes chipboard; Jen Hadfield ephemera.

Thanks so much for visiting today!

Days 11 and 12 | December Daily / December Memories 2017

Hi there!

I am back again today sharing today days 11 and 12 in my December Daily album with you, along with another process video and a second free printable.

Since I was creating in real time, I divided my video into two 2 day segments to keep it from being too long.  So I figured I might as well offer two freebies!

Day 11 is super simple, I printed a photo of my freshly decorated tree onto vellum, cut it down into 4 3x4 sections and popped them into the pockets.  Printing on vellum gives a less crisp photo but I like the look.

After that I added sparkly number Thickers, a flair and a pretty red phrase sticker.

Day twelve documents a list of our favourite holiday movies, I snapped a quick pictute of the ones we own, we are in a basket by our tv for the month, for easy access.

Here is a look at the two pages side by side. I a trying to make the pages compliment each other even when the stories are different.

Here is the freebie 4x6 cut apart card printable that I am offering today. I have used the calendar card in a previous video / spread and as you see, I used the "making a list" card on this spread.

Days 9 and 10 | December Daily / December Memories 2017

Hi there!

Today I am sharing Days 9 and 10 of my December Daily album with you.  I also have a REAL TIME process video.  Boy do they make me nervous to do! Plus, I have another free printable!

Day 9 documents our youngest son's wish list.

I created this print and cut wish list large scale tag and added a screen shot of his texted wish list to it.  I also created the printable circular elements, which are my freebie for today.  They are simply a print design that you can punch with a 2  inch circle punch.

I embossed a Thicker with silver ink and clear embossing powder because I didn't have one that was already silver in the appropriate size.  Other than some pretty ribbon, I kept this day's page very simple and I love it!

Day 10 was the day we went to get our real tree.  We have been putting up two trees for several years.   A tradition brought about by the tradition of gifting each other ornaments every year!

I journalled onto a card that I created, I love the snowy tree on it and how it relates to our photos. Again I kept this page fairly simple, using some Simple Stories number and phrase stickers along with a little banner piece and a puffy sticker.

Here is a look at how the two pages look together in the album.

I love that I now have a page that is something other than a pocket page, it's fun to mix things up!

As promised here is today's free printable.

Christmas Joy | T'is the Season 12 Days of Holiday Scrapping Videos

Hey there!

I am so excited to share that I was invited back by Audrey Yeager to join in on the second annual T'is the Season 12 Days of Holiday Scrapping Videos.  Audrey is creating process videos for 12 consecutive days and has invited a guest or two each day!  Today is day 12 and it's my turn to share!

I am using up a few of the left over goodies from my December kit from My Creative Scrapbook, although I haven't shared all of my DT pages yet,  this particular page is the last of 8 layouts that I created with it, such a great kit!

I opted for a super whimsical design to document these pictures of my youngest decorating gingerbread people cookies! I couldn't help myself, this little guy is just so cute!

I printed a colouring page of a gingerbread person, that I found online, and used it as a pattern to hand cut the shape out of vellum.

Then I machine stitched it onto my kraft paper background. After that, I hand-stitched a mouth and the white wavy "icing" lines. I even created a bow tie with the ribbon from the kit and then opted for googly eyes  and sequin "buttons" to finish off this little guy.

I pulled in lots of embellishments from Crate Paper's Falala collection to create my title and adorn my page.

As you know, I love to tuck in bits and pieces here and there.

A bit of journalling wraps up this page!

As mentioned, I have a process video for this layout, you should watch it!  Here or on my You-Tube channel, which ever you prefer!

Be sure to check out Audrey's video on her channel here, too!

Supply List: Crate Paper "Falala" patterned paper, ephemera, cardstock stickers and chipboard stickers; ribbon; Studio Calico sequins; Core'dinations velum; misc. and Gutermann thread; Flossy embroidery floss; misc. googly eyes; Sharpie pen; Kaisercraft cut apart card; American Crafts cardstock.

Thanks so much for visiting!

Days 5 - 8 | December Daily / December Memories 2017

Hi there!

I am back sharing my days 5 through 8 in my December Daily today, along with a process video and a free cut file!

Days 5, 6 and 7 all document a story about each of my sons,  timing is funny that they all had an event right after each other but I love that I got a page about each of them in my book!

I created a number pocket card for this page and pulled in a coordinating car sticker from Echo Park to help tell the story of this page.  Since this page is non Christmas themed, the puffy star stickers worked well as accents.

I am loving the way day 5 coordinates with day 4!

I created this fun journaling card with the thoughts of using it to document us all doing something festive, but it also worked perfectly to document how much we enjoyed our youngest son's hockey game the other night!

I used a bright red Sharpie to journal and red number Thicker to add a pop of colour to my spread.  I also added an Avery page tab, and stamped "naughty" and "nice" on it using a roller stamp from Simple Stories.

This page documents my middles son's 26th birthday, I love that I was able to use up a "26" wood veneer left over from a previous year, to mark his age.

I also used an "o" alpha stamp to encircle the "7" on my calendar to mark the date. A fun photo taken by my daughter-in-law of the dance party they had after going out to dinner and movie with their son is the perfect addition to my page!

Day 8 is a little different and documents me have a holiday meltdown.  Yup, I am bound to have one each holiday season.  This one came about while setting out the nutcrackers and really had nothing to do with the nutcrackers and everything to do with me putting pressure on myself to "get too much stuff done".  This page is a good reminder to myself to take it easy, Christmas will be perfect whether the house is decorated to the nines or not, whether there is a ridiculous amount of baked goods or not, whether the gifts are wrapped to perfection or not!

I created all of the pocket cards and the photo overlay, intending them to be a reminder that Christmas will be great regardless.

Here is a cut file for some numbered pocket tags that I am sharing as freebies today, click on the image to be taken to my download page.  Numbers 1 through 31 are included.! You can see how I used one in my precious video here.

Christmas Tree Farm | My Creative Scrapbook

Hi there!

I have a fun new layout and a process video with a tutorial in it for My Creative Scrapbook today! As you probably know by now, this month's kit, features the Crate Paper "Fa la la"  collection, and I just could not stop creating with it.  There were so many fun elements that triggered ideas to create!

Today's page was sparked by an idea that came about when I saw this fabulous stamp and die set that was included in the kit!

I had so much fun stamping the little trees and cutting them out, be sure to watch the video for a fun tip!

I used some regular ink pads and some Distress Oxide ink pad to create my treess.  I stuck to pinks and teals but used a couple of shades of each. It was interesting to see how the different inks stamped up.  I also used a pretty gold metallic in to add the pattern to my little trees.

Then I layered then all on my page, at first I thought I made too many and would have some to save.  But in the end, I used them all!  I love the way they look like a tree farm - just exactly what I am documenting!

I added a multi font title, because you know how much I love them!

I also tucked in a few other pieces of ephemera, chipboard and stickers, and then sprinkled around some sequins and some gold colour shine and soft teal Prima mist.

As mentioned, I have a process video for this layout, you should watch it!  Here or on my You-Tube channel, which ever you prefer!

Supply List: Crate Paper "Falala" patterned paper, ephemera, cardstock stickers and chipboard stickers; Teresa Collins " Tinsel and Company" alpha and label stickers; Hampton Art Christmas Tree stamp and die set; Studio Calico sequins.  Other Supplies: Gutermann gold thread; Sharpie pen; Heidi Swapp gold color shine; Prima soft teal Color Bloom; Annie's crochet thread; Colorbox gold ink; Worn Lipstick and Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide Inks; CTMH inks (juniper, breeze, twilight, pink carnation and sorbet).

24th | 12 Days of Scrapping

Hi there!

I was invited by TinaGale and Heather from Heather's Crafty Life to participate in their 12 Days of Christmas Scrapping You-Tube series.  Sort of like the song, each day someone will work with the "gift" of the day; ie. a cut file, punches, etc.  And there are prizes so be sure to watch the videos to find out how to win!

I was asked to bring a sketch as a gift, you can see it below and it is what I will be using for my page.

My layout came together pretty quickly, I dug into my stash and used up some of the last of my Simple Stories leftovers from last Christmas. Clearing out goodies makes me so happy lately!

No big surprise but I transformed the suggested triangle element into a tree, which is cut from vellum and holds a bunch of sequins thanks to some pretty gold stitching.

I also added some red stitching for the suggested circle element.

My title is super simple, these photos were taken on Christmas Eve last year, so 24th it is!  Also, since I did a December Daily album into which I put one of these pics and told a story, I opted to skip the journaling for this page.

Once the sequin tree was complete and I layered on my patterned papers, pictures and title; I got to have a bit of fun embellishing my layout!

I used up some of the embellishments that I also had leftover from last year, repeating the colour gold around my page. Although, the flair is older but new to me.

I also added some splatters of Heidi Swapp gold color shine around my page.  I love that stuff and I am really enjoying the new larger bottle as the large nozzle leaves larger splats!

As mentioned, I have a process video for this layout, you should watch it!  Here or on my You-Tube channel, which ever you prefer!

Also, please be sure to watch the videos that these two crafty ladies created!  And check out their other daily guests! Don't forget, there are prizes!

Supply List: Teresa Collins and misc. patterned paper; Simple Stories patterned paper, die cuts, chipboard stickers, pocket cards, bradz, Sn@p numbers, and Sn@p alphas; misc. and American Crafts sequins; American Crafts enamel dots; Fancy Pants flair; Heidi Swapp gold color shine; misc thread.

Thanks so much for visiting today!

Believe in Santa | My Creative Scrapbook

Hi there!

It is reveal day over at My Creative Scrapbook, which means I get to share the gorgeous December main kit with you, as well as a layout and process video, too!

This month's kit, features the Crate Paper "Fa la la"  collection, which was so fun to work with, I loved that it has lots of pink in it, lately I am loving pink in with my Christmas goodies!  I took a few afternoons to play with this kit and created 6 pages and process videos to share.  I have a few goodies left and hope to use them to create a couple of other pages for other obligations.

Check out the main kit contents.

This first page is a fairly simplistic design, and I really like that about it, cutting in to a new kit can be daunting at times and starting with an easy design definitely helped.  Plus, there was one sheet of cut apart cards by Kaisercraft in the kit and I challenged myself to feature them on this page.

Using two 3x4 cut apart cards as my main patterned papers really helped to balance this 4x6 photo that I wanted to document.  I don't often work with 4x6 photos and this designed made it super easy to work with this photo size, and allowed me to get this particular picture out of my "to be scrapped" pile.

I layered my photo, and the two cut apart cards onto some vellum, from my stash, after adhering it to my page I added some machine stitching with gold thread.

Then to keep things from being too boxy, I added some ephemera pieces to my layout, placing them so they sit partially of my main design.

I treated this pretty "ho ho ho" piece like a tag, punching a hole in it and adding some crochet thread.

My final step was to add a sprinkling of sequins and gold glitter chipboard stars.

You can view my process video below or on my You-Tube channel here!

Supply List:Kaisercraft "Mint Twist" cut apart cards; Crate Paper "Falala" patterned paper, ephemera and chipboard stickers; Studio Calico sequins. Other supplies: Gutermann gold thread; Sharpie black pen; Annie's crochet thread; Core'dinations vellum; Colorbox gold ink.

Days 1 - 4 | December Daily / December Memories 2017

Hi there!

I am sharing my first few days in my December Daily today, along with a process video and a free printable!

Day 1 documents the story of my Christmas urn on the porch, something I have typically done on the first of December for the last few years.

Our son helped me navigate the woods behind our house to gather some evergreens, he did all the chopping and cutting of the greens, too!  He was so helpful and we had so much fun!

Day 1 features a fun sequin pocket and a tag number that I created.  The 3x4 cut apart cards are my creations, too.

Day 2 tells the story of me finally finishing our Christmas stockings, a project that I began last year but didn't finish.  Although, I now think that is a good thing because  I found a super cute pattern for stockings for our pups and made them coordinate, opposed to being the same.

Day 2 is super simple and takes advantage of being able to see the sequins from Day 1.

Day 3 documents the putting up of our kids tree.  And how our youngest son  asked his dad to pick him up so he could put the topper on the tree, just like old times. Even though he is taller than his dad now.  An idea he had, that he thought would be so funny and he asked me to be ready with the camera!

A small number, documents the day without  distracting from the design I created on this cut apart card.

Sometimes little embellishments make a lot of pop, like these puffy stars on my cut apart card.

Day 4 is all about finishing up my Christmas cards and getting them ready for the mail.  It gave me a bit of grief as I only had one photo and four pockets.  In the end, I love the way it looks.

I took advantage of the white space on my photo to add a clear sticker.

Pretty flair is always a good thing!

My number needed a little partial circle to help it pop!

I combined alpha stickers and the sentiment on this pocket card to create a title, of sorts.

These are the cut apart cards that I am sharing as freebies today, click on the image to be taken to my download page.  Print them up and trim them down to size!
